Our principal Kim Annette, launched the studio in 1987 in a community hall as Kim Annette School of Dance. As our name evolved so did our expertise, engaging the services of industry professionals to assist in the growth of our dancers.

The studio has always maintained a welcoming family atmosphere and today KADS is headed by Kim’s daughters, Director Amber Orchard and Junior Director Shea Thomas who continue the legacy.

Building confidence for 35 years

Our aim is to build confidence and self-esteem in dancers of all ages and abilities, teaching students from beginner to pre-professional.  KADS has a no bullying policy and ensure all of our students feel safe and included. Our classes are taught by experienced, qualified teachers and industry professionals.

We also offer an examination syllabus in Jazz, Tap and Ballet through the well-established State Dance Association, we believe that examinations not only build technique but help to build confidence. My happy place is a comment often heard by our students and their families. It gives us great joy that many of our dancers have been with us for 20 years and beyond.

Training

A variety of training for teachers and students is available throughout the year. When students reach 15 yrs of age, they can undertake a Student Teaching Certificate which is encouraged at KADS.

Far more than just a dance studio, KADS has become a family environment for our daughter. Guidance and encouragement has blossomed traits such as confidence, friendship and loyalty to name a few that naturally flows through the culture there. Everyone working together with a common goal, the final production (stunning to say the least !!!), is an achievement in itself but the collaboration and support throughout the entire year reveals the true dedication and endurance of the entire KADS family.
